In cowboy action shooting some shooters are using short brass case cartridges in their revolvers for better performance with light loads.
Is there brass and dies for doing something similar with the 480 Ruger for loads in the 800 - 900 fps range ?

I've not yet come across them, others here will know more. I would be interested in a plinking load, what I call frog smackin' loads. Wonder what the lightest available cast bullet is ? I'll probably just try TrailBoss in the as is 480 hull though. An interesting question you pose though, luck.

short of cutting off the cases, I can't imagine one... Trailboss would be your friend, provided it starts showing up in the stores again...
I have a few pounds, but didn't shoot much CAS this year, for lack of that powder

Trailboss would work better and easier than cutting cases down.

I can't quite imagine the 480 as a CAS round. Never heard of anyone using it before.
