Believe Jim used a 41 Mag loaded with a Hornady 210 grn XTP on that elk.

Not a problem. Gary Reeder and I went together to build him a 44 Magnum that was presented at the HHC.
Hope he enjoys it. Gary done a fine job building it.
Jim is a good man who deserved the gun and hunt. I was happy on his behalf.

Very cool!
Just curious -- did this happen recently or before Jim went Africa?
All the stuff of Jim's that I've read indicated he never had a .44 -- is this his first?
Don't know Jim personally, but would love to meet him and his wife.

Not sure if it was Jim's first 44 Magnum, but I seriously doubt it.
The HHC started Oct. 1st. Jim is back from Africa for a while. Think this was his first hunt in several years.
