Had one just like that and sold it...my friend who collects .45 ACP revolvers also bought one and still has it...they are great shooters. I missed it enough that when a 625 MG made in the late 1990s came up for sale I bought it...and have never fired it...
Great gun...Bob

This one is going to get shot, might get shot a bunch. I hope all that fancy writin on the right side will withstand cleaning solvent.

Outstanding. That is one of the few festooned S&Ws that actually looks classy. And, if I dare say it, the classic style cylinder release adds to the appeal.
Gold lettering on my 26-1 has not been especially resilient, so I would avoid abrasives if you want to preserve the figuring.
Very nice revolver. Well picked!

I have one of those. Have the Elmer Keith classic Auto Rim load in it. Want to try to shoot a dear with it this year.

I have always managed to hang onto at least one ACP revolver...The M9ountian Gun configuration old lines , modern materials, is the best outdoors tool in my experience. The Mann load and the 450 SMC from Double Tap and his AR loads would be great in that. I shot my old custom 1955 Target out of time with too many heavy AR loads... foolish as I had a twin to it in a M29-2...

I'm going to be hanging onto this one. I just about went for a 45 Colt MG and had it cut for moon clips so I could also shoot ACP in it. But then I started worrying about the accuracy with ACP rounds and decided to just keep searching.
As you know, I already have a pair of 629 MG's, so I doubt I'll ever shoot any heavy loads in this 625.

That's a beautiful gun! I have a 625-6 MG and it's turned into my daily carry piece.
