Once you get this up and running, there's an aggravating big lizard thing running around in the cow pasture behind the house...

Yikes!!
Many years ago I had a friend-long since deceased, who was a shooting instructor with Holland & Holland. One of his duties was to fire firearms that had been sent in for work. On doubt rifles he would fire 2 rounds from each barrel. He told me that it took several days for his systems to recover from firing 4 rounds through a 600 Nitro Express.
I don't even want to imagine the pain that this caliber will inflict.

A couple of years ago I shot a friends 4 bore BP express rifle with a full charge. Even though I was wearing a winter parka the black and blue mark on my shoulder didn't go away for two weeks. No stranger to recoil as previously I owned a 7 pound 450 Ackley built on a Rem 700. You guys are nuts to think there might be any fun to this build. But hey, it's your money and body. Good luck with the project:)

The reamer and go-gauge came in from Pacific. I have a couple of projects to finish before starting this build but we’re close. The 840 grain LFN Mountain mold will also be ordered soon. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

My Mountain mold just arrived. This was cut as an 800 grain LFN when pouring linotype. But I plan on using Lyman #2 and powder coating which’ll scale around 840 grains. I’m going the PC route because a 585 lube sizer will barely fit my 450 press. Dad said he could make one but the walls would be pretty thin. Powder coating solves that: In term of specs, this is proportionally the same as our other Martin LFNs. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

840 gr. *Gulp* Markbo, if you ever end up in my neck of the woods, you're welcome to try my 510 wells express. I load an 850 grain bullet from an NOE mold, and it's a sweetheart. Especially loaded down to 1900 fps (a little harsh) and 1500 fps (like a slug gun). I freely admit I do not pursue max loads in the gun, but I also designed mine to use no muzzle brake This nyati will be a joy to shoot with the brake on I am sure of it!
