Long cylinder 44 Mag with browned finish and smooth elk grips. Really nice combination with smooth elk and octagonal tube. Who did the conversion? -Lee www.singleactions.com

Lee, I stumbled onto this gun a year or so ago when it was posted for sale without pictures on the RF at a ridiculously low price. Everyone wanted to see pictures so I took a chance and said I'd take it sight unseen since I wanted a Clements gun as part of my quest for a piece from each of the current top makers. When it came it had factory grips and rear sight. I had a Maximum cylinder so I called David and he agreed to take the gun back and install the Bosen sight and linebore the Max cylinder to tight spec 44 Mag and fit it as long as possible. I think it was the one that kind of got Axehandle thinking about the long cylinder idea using Max cylinders in normal size blackhawks and shortening the barrel protrusion to allow longer OAL on the loads.

Very similiar to my Vaquero project, just a little shorter and with a little more oomph.

Not all that custom, one I tend to forget about. Rim to centerfire conversion and rechambered.
