This little five gun is marvelous. Throats are .430. It shoots very well and even with heavy loads doesn't hurt my paws. Ran 71 round through it yesterday starting with eight of unique. The ballisti cast #926 is too long as is their 300, Keith. That seems to be the only fault. I changed the front sight to an all black partridge and checkered the face of it. Going to load now and shoot some more. Happy happy!!!!!

I have been eyeing one of them myself. Double action revolvers always sting my hand when shot so I am leery of laying out the bucks to purchase. It is good to here the recoil isn't that bad. My Super Blackhawk does not bother me at all no matter what the strength of the load.

I bought one last month and have been enjoying hell out of it. The first time I took it out shooting I took my 629 Mt.Gun along to compare. I now prefer the 69.

I love the 69. It is as accurate as my old Pre 29 5". Easier to pack and I shoot the same load in it as I do all my other Smith 44s. Don't own any 44s of any other brand. I just purchased a second 69. My load for the 44 is 10.0 grains of Unique and a 250 Keith. Bear protection is a .308 or 12 gauge. rs626.pbsrc.com/albums/tt345/Bronco45_album/69lside.jpg~320x480

Is there room in the cylinder and barrel for them to make the 69 in 45 Colt? That would be interesting I would think....

I got to shoot one of these for the first time this afternoon, great combination of size and punch, balanced nicely. Might not be the prettiest sixgun Smith has ever produced but seems like an ideal field gun to this yooper. If they make a 45 Colt or 41 Mag version I'd be first in line.
