what kind of pressure would a .45 Colt generate with a load of 9.0 grains Unique with a 270 gr. fast bullet. I have a few hundred loaded up and I'm not sure if they would be safe in my stainless Ruger flat top .45 colt/.45 ACP. I know Brian Pearce wrote an article about that exact gun and loads suitable for it in Handloader but I don't have it handy right now. If they are too much I will pull them apart. I traded my full size Blackhawk off and they were for that gun.

That article is my "to-to" for reloading the .45-270SAA bullet. I only use table III for loads in my .45 Colt 5 shot. Even those loads should be OK in a Ruger BH. None of the loads in the entire article violates any of my manuals recommendations.

Does anyone know of any commercial casters of the .45-270SAA bullet? Do any commercial casters offer a hollow point version?

Paul is right on the money on this one. 10.0 grns Unique is somewhere roughly 20,000 psi, so your loads are safe in most any revolver I would think.
