been wanting a 22 Mag snubbie, been looking at the S&W 351 PD, & the LCR... I just bought an LCR-X in 38 Special... I'd prefer a hammer on my rim fire... for a kit gun, just seems natural... anyone heard any inside scoop if / when Ruger will do an LCR-X in the rim fire version???
Thanks

I saw the president of Ruger posted in the Ruger forum that people asked for it and they were going to get a rimfire version. However they didn't say 22 mag in the discussion but once the rimfire is complete a run of magnums would be simple enough.

as much as I'd like one today... I'm still not spending money on a gun that ammo is not readily available... I have 500 rounds of Speer Gold Dot short barrel ammo... but will wait until I can get at least another 500 rounds before I commit to a short barreled revolver...
I really like the 351 PD... but projected prices should put the LCR-X at a couple $100.00 less???

Personally I see nothing in the LCR in any caliber. It in .22 does not seem to me to be a particularly accurate package. Bet my Bearcats can outshoot it.

It would make a nice little kit gun, but the availability of .22rf both LR & Mag. would worry me. I can cast & load .38s & it is a good trail/kit cartridge too.
Oh someday maybe the .22s will be available again.

the whole reason I built a custom 8 shot 25 ACP Ruger Blackhawk, & am just finishing up a Contender carbine barrel, in the same... I have a mold for the 25 ACP as well, & honestly, my CAS 38 specials ( I buy bulk non home cast bullets ) are nearly the same cost to shoot as the 22 LR, purchased at normal today's prices... I think I can shoot those actually cheaper than the 22 Mag... just looking for the 351 PD or LCR-X in 22 Mag to further the snubbie collection may carry it once in a while for variety... the 351 PD being a 7 shot does offer 2 more shots than my LCR-X in 38 Special, & one more than my lil 32 H&R Magnum J Frame

well... I didn't expect it... but I just got notice & picked up another 500 Gold Dot short barrel 22 Magnum cartridges...
... now I would buy an LCR-X in 22 mag... if that 351 PD doesn't call my name loudly... before Ruger releases the LCR-X

AWE MAN !!!! now I'm seeing that Gold Dot ammo everywhere... & there is a very lightly used S&W 351 PD ( guy bought a few snubbies for his wife to try out, for a carry gun, & she didn't choose this one ) for sale locally... hasn't had more than 50 rounds through it, & hasn't been carried yet... price is decent
the S&W is like a beautiful woman trying to trick me into spending money on her... ( don't tell the MRS... I feel I'm starting to get tempted )...
