Beautiful, I love it!! Trust me, it costs a pretty penny to have one built just like that.

Super congrats for a super find. Starline 45/70 brass is available besides Winchester.

Unfortunately, Starline brass is too thick and would require neck reaming. Not a fun proposition, if you ask me. Just as a "hey, lets check and see if this works", I dug some hunting loads for the 475L out of my range box. They're made with Starline brass. Despite being a shorter cartridge, I couldn't even get the entire round to chamber. I think it's a combination of thick brass and maybe too big of bullet. I'll have to measure the throats to see. My BFR likes `em .476. The Bowen might need `em a smidge skinnier.

Have you tried taking the decapping pin out of your sizing die? Then run the loaded cartridge's up it to size them down a bit.

Thanks, Steve. I'll give that a try. My load bench is packed away in boxes right now, but I think I'm gonna have to dig out the necessities and find a temporary spot to mount a press!

One thing that sticks out when building those is shooting off the bench to sight it in during a Missouri snowstorm.
Ya got to stay awake. Lol

Grand! Nice score. You should be able to load it down for pleasure and keep all the big stuff in reserve for serious use. Lots of horsepower on tap. Have fun.
