I keep it for my grip making projects. But i'd love to put a Hunter grip frame on it and keep the Bisley frame off the gun...

"Lighter in the end" are you talking about the hammer or Barranti? I KNOW you are not talking about Tank Hoover!

I may have missed it, but what did you use to drill the grip frame? Those small holes look like they would be hairy! Drill bits or some sort of carbide bit? Brand?

Not sure about the brand, pretty sure they were carbide. Ray used a tool to "start" the hole then drilled VERY CAREFULLY so as no to bust the bit. Of course, this all leaves sharp edges that have to be deburred....

When Fermin first started scratching his head about this project, he approached me about a special holster. The 7.5" barrel discouraged a strongside rig and with a special sixgun like this one, a chest rig wouldn't have been appropriate. My most popular crossdraw is my Northwest Mountain Companion and I suggested it to Fermin, but in the end, he decided on his favorite, my Longhorn Companion. I suppose this is not a real surprise since it is one of the many rigs that Fermin has suggested I add to my catalog. The Longhorn Companion was inspired by Bill Grover's Texas High Ride and is a very versatile rig. It can be worn right or left handed, strong side or crossdraw, and gives the user the ability to remove the holster body from the belt slide when needed. This done by simply unsnapping the tail of the hammer thong, keeping the sixgun safe and sound in the holster body. Handy if you find the need to remove your gun yet keep it protected in its holster. I've been teasing Fermin with photos over the past several weeks while I worked on this late at night and on weekends. I wrapped it up this afternoon and he asked me to post pics here....
