My first post on the new site. Alan sent me a few pictures, it's almost ready for finishes. Mike

Wow thats going to be an awesome gun with that 4 5/8" barrel and the #5 grip. Tell us about how you are going to finish it, all blue, CCH and blue?

That is awesome! I have been wondering about how a 4 5/8" No.5 would look...I think the proportions are great! I spoke with Alan today about that one and he says it balances perfectly in the hand. Keep us posted!

Great looking gun! I have been tossing the idea around of a 4 5/8 #5 but I wasn't sure how it would look. Yours answers my questions in spades. Now I'm trying to envision the same gun with a personal tweak of a ribbed S & W barrel being substituted for the round barrel.

Now I'm trying to envision the same gun with a personal tweak of a ribbed S & W barrel being substituted for the round barrel. That's the one gun I would be most interested in seeing. I really like the S&W barrel installed on a flat top but I have never seen one on a #5. I have been seriously thinking about making that my next project gun but I sure would like to see one first. It should be the bomb! Maybe the "Last word" ;D

I'm lucky in that I have a ribbed barrel tucked away in 41, 44 and 45 Colt along with a 357 and a 44 OM FT and a Clements #5 frame as well as a Powers OM #5 frame on order. The question is which combo of gun, caliber and grip frame? The ideal for me would be if David would use the S&W barrel and his frame on the OM FT. I just don't know if he will use a premade barrel or if he will insist on making one of his own. If he won't then Andy Horvath will get the call to do a Powers grip framed ribbed 45 Colt on the 357 frame. I need to send a email to David and see what he says.

Thanks Guys Turnbull is going to do the case colors on the cylinder frame.hammer and trigger and Alan is going to do the rest in high polished blue. Kings6... I prefer the 4 5/8" over the 5 1/2" barrel it's just a personal preference. Although I do have a Lipseys 44 special in 5 1/2" on order. Mike, I plan on ordering one of your holsters for this gun, do you think the front sight will fit properly in your #5 holster?

Mike,
The No.5 holster is cut big enough to allow a tall front sight.
I can't get over how good the #5 gripframe looks with the shorter barrel...
