Has anyone on the forum had jack perform the 500JRH conversion on their marlin 1894 rifle?

I wouldn't mind having one of those.... even a 480 Ruger would be sweet.

Jack does build them, but they are very labor intensive. He does report that they handle the cartridge well.

I believe it. Gary Reeder built me one in 429 GNR. It's a 454 Casull case necked down to take 44 Magnum bullets.
240 grn XTP @ 2200 fps is no problem.

I had one converted to 50 A.E. several years ago... been thinking lately about switching it to a rimmed cartridge... there was a lot of work to do, just converting it to 50 A.E. even the magazine tube needed changed to a bigger diameter... also the fore end had to be fully glassed, as it kept shaking it apart... I shoot a custom cut mold, cast bullet, mostly in my 50 A.E. rifle
