Guns like that intrigue me more than a brand spanky new in the box gun. I appreciate the snapshot in time a NIB gun offers, but a gun like that gets the imagination involved. That was someone's pride and joy at some point and has been to see the elephant so to say. Makes me wonder what people will think in a century when they see some of the toys we come up with lol.

I would say it was in very poor shape before someone fell in love.

I agree with Dave. If I had the money to bid on ti I absolutely would.
I have a New Service that some one modified for target work, they would make a good pair.

It says it is .455, but the cylinder has been countersunk for .45Colt rims.

It says it is .455, but the cylinder has been countersunk for .45Colt rims. Probably not as that is the way my .455 looks also. If it were a .45 Colt the chambers would have to have been bored through and you can still see the .455 chambers.

It looks like some steampunk sort of Rossi. The base gun was in poor condition with lots of pitting. I'm guessing that is a blasted nickel finish, and the topstrap was cut for a late style sight.
I'm not feeling the love here.

Triple locks like these were initially chambered in 44 Special, but Smith and Wesson, sensing a British market at the time, decided to convert many of these Triple Locks to 455, if memory serves me correctly. I don't believe the $1750.00 the guy is asking is realistic. It's been heavily modified which takes away from its value. Good luck to him in selling it. DW41F.

how's that work... when it doesn't sell for $1200.00 they relist it at $1500.00

He wants 1,500 for it and thinks he can get it, which I doubt he will unless some one with brain worms bids. There are other non-modified Triple-locks, including a rust free one, on Gunbroker for hundreds less.
I was bidding on a Barsto barrel for a Grizzly Mk.I with his buy now price at 225. After running it twice he took of the reserve. It magically sold for 223, especially as there were only two bids the first two times, none above 200.
