Until tonight I was not aware that one could by a new Uberti 1873 carbine (only) in .44 magnum. I nearly fell off the Christmas Tree when I read that. I noticed a couple of GB sellers listing such and emailed them to tell them to double check. Then had to email them back and say, well guess you were right and I was wrong. I hate it when that happens! 
But seriously, I had no idea owing to the so called weak toggle link action of the '73 that they would chamber the magnum. Read on another forum where a guy handled one at SHOT with a Uberti rep and they had every confidence in the product. I guess maybe I can relax a little bit and not worry about my new .44-40 Win. No, I wont hot rod it but perhaps I don't have to keep it at 12000 CUP. I was thinking perhaps the way to load it is the same way I load my Colt SAA in .44-40 and just go with that. I don't rod it either.
