Sent out parts of two project guns today one OM midsize frame with it's loading gate and a SBH hammer and a 50 th 357 Flat Top frame with loading gate and a SBH hammer. Both guns have been converted over to 45 Colt with 5 1/2" octagon barrels. The OM is for me and the NMFT Med. Frame is going to be signed over to a friend who has done most of the machine work and hand polishing. The barrel was a 1" dia. blank when we got it.

I'd lkike to see pictures of it when it comes back, I'm working on amassing parts for something similiar. How wide did that octagon barrel wind up across the flats?

We made the barrels .768" across the flats with no taper. This left the corners just a little sharp to the finger when rubbing it from the frame to the barrel. Then we just broke the corners on the barrel and everything came in just right. The barrels we replaced were around .780" dia. |

Thanks, looks like I am going ot be getting out the draw file because mine measures slightly over .900 across the flats, long tedious work to be sure.

No, I just moved to this area about 2 months agp and haven't really gotten out too much. Been a heck of a time trying to make time to shoot.
