My 280 Rem built by Roger Green in 1985 on one of fifty (mine is number forty-nine) Pete Grisel built small ring square bridge "Mauser" actions. Roger stocked it in California English. The rings are removed with a quarter turn of an Allen wrench that is stored in the butt reservoir. I have a second set of rings that will allow a QD swap. All is made quite lean with the stock finished extremely thin everywhere. Roger's craftsmanship is flawless in all regards.

Yep, though now a 1985 vintage Leupold "in and out shop" 2.5-8X that I sent in, one of the few with "notches" or "stops" at each 2x turn. First I have seen.

I almost bought one of Roger's rifles built on a G33/40 action that was in .280.

Maurice Hallowell had it for sale for forever.

I ended up with a Biesen built .280 on an old Ruger 77 action.

Sort of an "economy" substitute.

Roger has great dogs too!

Yes he does and just a fine gentlemen to speak with as I researched the piece.

I have often thought, if I was starting all over again, my main/first rifle would be a 280 Remington, as opposed to the 30-06 I picked just because that's what my Dad had.
