I sold a friend a 22 Diamondback about 30 years ago & he wants to know a ballpark figure of its value, probably an 80% gun (4")

Dick, Diamondbacks are on Gunbroker from a bit less than $1400 to about $4000 (!) Shocked me! Some others were started at $200, but with reserves, the amounts of which are unknown. An 80% gun would of course sell for less than these high figures. A thorough checking of Gunbroker for several days might help answer your question.

I'm betting if it's 80% it's worth at least $800/1000, maybe more? I think some of the guns on GB that don't actually have a bid are just people fishing? They are one classy six-gun.

Keep in mind something I just found pricing another gun using Gunbroker: don't go by the ads' asking price. Go to "Advanced" on the Search Box, it's on the right of the box I believe, and once there on top of that page click on "Completed Auctions". You can then go down to the middle of the page if you like and select what you want shown, like "Firearms" "Collectible Firearms" etc. You don't have to though.
After you selected "Completed Auctions" at top left of the page, enter the gun you're searching, and you'll see all the completed auctions + the number of bids. Click on any that have bids to see what the outcome was. I did it for both Colt Pythons and USAF Revolvers. Even for Pythons many had no bids or bids but none at the price of the Seller. USAF all had pretty high prices listed, but only a few had any bids, and from the partial list I saw only two sold at the price asked.
This will give you much better idea of REALIZED Value.
Anyway, I'm sure many know this but I thought just in case I'd post the info.
