Who will take a modern made Japchester 1886 or 1892 and remove the tang safety/rebounding hammer and convert it to original half cock hammer configuration? Also how much does it cost?
Thank you

While I don't care for that stuff either, I took my J'Chester '95 to SA this past summer and didn't find it a problem. Gotten used to it I guess.

I know Turnbull does it but Turnbull's prices on everything took a pretty big leap sometime during the past year. Right now on his site there are 3 of his 1886's and two are new, the one labelled "used" is the same price as the new ones.
Mostly I find it annoying. There are a couple of web pages that tell exactly how to remove it but plugging the hole is beyond my capability.
Then again... if converted at home could then theoretically take it to a gunsmith and have him fill the hole with a silver plug for a nameplate or something.

Then the safety hole is covered.
