I was bored and looking in Gunbroker. Are these really going for $1000 now? Or are the guys trying to sell them on there crazy? I paid less than $300 for mine brand new in 2003.

It's a crazy world. Marlin Cowboys are through the roof too, local one at $1200. I got a Rossi 44 24" octagon for $500, and it's love enough for me.

I paid north of $700 for mine but it's a like-new Legacy model with 24 inch barrel. Put a Williams Peep sight on it and shot a half-inch group at 50 yards with my handloads and a lousy shell bag makeshift rest. Oh, and 12 rounds of 270 grain Speer GD Soft Points on board with an extra one in the chamber sure makes me feel warm and fuzzy!

When Win went under and sold to Browning it drove prices up on Genuine made in USA rifles . Marlin is kinda the same way when it became Remlin . I'm sure that I'd rather hold on to my made in USA rifles . I bought my first lever in a long time , a Christmas present to my self this year , a 92 Rossi stainless 16" in 454Casull . Hope it holds up ....

If you get a Stainless Rossi that runs right, you got something indeed!
