Enlisted as a gunner on AC-130a's in '84 and loved the twin 40mm Bofors on her. Still remember the sign above the urinal in the all ranks club -- Please stand close to the urinal; the gunners don't wear shoes. Pinned on O-5 in the back of an AC-130 twenty years later. Love that Fabulous Four Engine Fighter.

Some weapons are just so right.
My dad had a 240 battery. Nick named Black Dragon or Black Death by the North Koreans
Still in service in Tiawan.
