I got this little model 66 a couple days ago and really have been enjoying it. its fun to shoot 38's in and 357 aren't too bad. Its my bare minimum ranch revolver. it been the only handgun I have been using lately since I have developed significant leg pain from carry full size handgun iwb. the short barrel revolver isn't hurting my leg. gonna do a little trigger work to it, open up the rear sight notch and shoot it a bunch.

Nice! I really like mine with 173gr Keith bullets over 2400. Makes for a thumping load without the piercing muzzle blast of some magnum loads.

Of all the iconic Smiths, this is the one that Smith ought to resurrect! Nice unit and those Hogues really are nice when 357s start going off.

I don't think it is as nice as yours, but it is very clean. It was a sock drawer gun. Great combination, lots of power, adjustable sights, handy to carry and use, stainless, and very accurate. Does take discipline to shoot them well, not nearly as much as a J frame though.

If it's a sock drawer gun it's probably nicer than mine. Mine was an old cops off duty gun. It's got some handling marks but was well taken care of. If a snubby m66 was all I had I could still do alright.

A former officer w my agency offered me one he'd acquired in a trade a few weeks ago. He let me take it for a test spin, and I passed because the lockup seemed sloppy and it didn't group to well w the three loads I had on hand. Plus I'd already spent my gun funds for the quarter.
But if anyone is interested in getting one, let me know and I'll see if he's still got it. It's a 66-2 that was probably a detective gun around here. Everybody wanted the Simon &Simon model!

Mine had a carry up problems and end shake. I discovered one of the pins that held the ratchet in place was missing. I put in a new pin and some end shake washers and the little m66 is like new. I also put an trigger over travel rod inside the rebound spring that helps my long range shooting.

I have the same configuration Model 19. It's the gal's bed gun and my town gun. Fantastic revolver, never ran across a 66 at the right price and right time.
