How many here have a copy of the film, or the book "Fast and Fancy Revolver Shooting"? Or, have you seen or read either one? I have had the DVD for years, watched it tonight. I also have McGivern's book.

Take a trip over to Doc Barranti's website. He has a few videos of our own Mad Bohemian performing some really slick sixgun work. That man is fast. Speed only lightning knows!!

I have the book, used to have the film but it was "borrowed" many moons ago and went walkabout. Interesting stuff, eh?

I've had the book for 30+ years. Written in the often flowery prose of the time, it can be a nuisance to read though.

It was hard to read but I learned some things from it.

Yes, it is difficult to read. One of the things I found most interesting are his thoughts on gun control. A lot of the same rhetoric used today, yet the book was written so long ago. Gun control has apparently been a very heated issue for much longer than I thought, before reading the book.

Yup, I purchased his anniversary edition($10.00)and read it a couple times. What I learned from his book basically was you just need the desire and then practice and practice some more. After about a year and a whole lot of lead downrange, I realized that you would probably have to practice a lot for at least 15 to 20 years to even be in the tall grass with the big dogs - my desire to be one of the "best" went by the wayside.

I've had the book since.... .... .... .... maybe since 1980?
I had no idea there was a film available. I would assume it is actual film of McGivern at work?

A dvd on exhibition shooters produced by the late Col. Applegate. Has a short clip of McGivern.
