I have been neglecting my Model 94 Big Bore so I decided to finally iron out all the kinks. It has been pretty accurate with moderate-heavy charges of RL7 and some Lyman 375449's. I need to play with the OAL to get them to feed better but I've been given some good ideas on how to fix it. I also have the RD 235's that should be really good and I can't wait to load them all up. In my recent searching I came across several members here that also own one of these and would like to hear from them on what you've hunted with it and what bullets you've had success with. I have the Williams peep sight installed and it works pretty well for me, much better than the factory irons but I recently decided to get the Fastfire III and the Turnbull mount. I know it might not fit "as is" so I'll see if I can't find someone to take some meat out of the base so it fits around the bulged BB receiver. I really like red dots on rifles for their speed and hope this ends up being a very fast dark timber rifle. The idea is that it'll be every bit as accurate as the peep, but with much faster target acquisition. If anyone has tried the Turnbull mount or knows someone that could handle a project thinning the mount without shipping the rifle I'd love to hear from you. I would think comparing the profile of the peep base to the Turnbull base using the screw holes for reference might be enough. IDK, it's beyond my abilities. If you have one of these 375's chime in and show it off. I know it doesn't have a have a strong following but the people that have one seem to like it. Here's my top eject XTR. (pics were before adding the peep)

I had one a few years back, used 375 and 38-55 brass for it. It will cycle either. You might want to slug your bore to determine correct diameter if you haven't already. As I recall, mine slugged out to .380 and the .376ish bullets didn't give the best accuracy. I think they must have used some of their old 38-55 barrels in the 375BB. Hell of a rifle...very underappreciated.

I have one of the AE 375 Win. Good shooter, sadly no hunting with it. H4198 and Sierra 200 gr works well, I have cast bullets to try soon.

Mine is a 336 that was rebored by JES. IMR4198 is my go to powder although Re-7 shows a lot of promise. The Lyman 375449 is a fine bullet and is the one I use most for hunting. Lee makes a 250 grainer that is also a great bullet once you ream the bevel base out of the mold, why they put a bevel base on a rifle mold is beyond me. The 375 Win is ideal for my use, glad to see other folks like it as well. That XTR is gorgeous!

zac, I have 2 Marlin .375's that love the RCBS 250 gr. FNGC slug. Cast of WW alloy and water quenched, they weigh about 270 grs. plus. Loaded over a stiff charge of AA1680, and using blown out .30-30 brass, I am approaching 2,300 fps. The blown out .30-30 brass has more capacity than factory .375 brass so there is less pressure. Beartooth bullets has a lot of good info on the .375 if you poke around there. Never shot a critter with one yet as that is one of the toughest choices made during hunting season, as to which gun gets the nod. No question the .375 Winnie would be up for it tho.

I'm pretty sure when I get my elk hunt next year (might have to wait until '16) this will be the rifle that accompanies my SA in the field.
I know the reflex sight (fastfire3) is not very aesthetic but I'm pretty confident it will be faster. Plus it'll be more visible in the aspens at dusk. I run my guns on what's best for me, not how it'll look.
I'm going to use the 375449 or the ranch dog 235, whichever shoots better. I do like the Barnes originals but at a buck a piece I'd rather use lead.

I have 3 of them, all win 94's. 2 are top ejects and I is an AE. I had one of the top ejects turned into a 375/356 wildcat, which is a very easy conversion.
I like the 375 Win cartridge a lot and you can load for it quite inexpensively if you cast your own and form cases from 30/30 brass. For close quarter work I think its one of the best cartridge / rifle combos out there.
