Looks like I was wrong about the 148 gr. plated wadcutters! They didn't shoot that great with Winchester 231 but Titegroup was another story! Here's a 5-shot group at 25 yards - much better. Bullet: Bullet Works Copper Plated 148grn. DEWC w/ Cannelure Powder: Hodgdon Titegroup 3.3 grs. Primer: Federal 100 Small Pistol Match Case: Federal .38 Special LOAL: 1.200 (Taper Crimped)

Hey! I don't want to give the false impression that I'm some kind of master shot. The groups I've been posting are the best I can do WHEN I CONCENTRATE. More often than not they look like this one! Uh, sorry about the lousy pictures! I really need a new cellphone!

Nothing new to report today, shot some Remington 148 gr. Match Wadcutters through my gun today - like my handloads better. Had a couple of oddball flyers with the Remington ammunition and I know I didn't cause it - don't think it was the gun either. I'd sure like to get some Remington HBWCs to handload. I've tried them in cases sized in a Lee Factory Crimp Die (minus the seating plug) and they shoot great.
But the best part about today was seeing Alliant Bullseye powder for sale! Haven't seen any for years it seems! Classic bullseye load here I come!

HOLY COW! I just realized I've fired over 1000 rounds through this gun in the last month! That's A LOT for me!
IT'S JUST SO MUCH FUN TO SHOOT! Should have gotten a PPC revolver years ago...

I was planning to load up some Hornady 158 gr. SWCs today but after opening the box I'm thinking I might have to apply some liquid alox! This is the second time I've picked up a box short on lube. CFVentures wax wads would work too but I kinda like the smell of good old alox 50/50!

Got out to the range today and chronographed my plated wadcutter load (with the bullets out a little more). I also finally zeroed the gun for a 50 yard neck hold. Bullet: Bullet Works Copper Plated 148grn. DEWC w/ Cannelure Powder: Hodgdon Titegroup 3.3 grs. Primer: Federal 100 Small Pistol Match Case: Federal .38 Special LOAL: 1.220 (Taper Crimped) Velocity" 733.58 fps My oldest and newest revolvers (the N-Frame is a S&W Model 57-1)

Everyone that loves to shoot needs to own at least one fun gun. One that makes you smile when you pick it up. That you look forward to shooting. One that is so dependably accurate it makes you look good even on bad days. Sounds like you have yours. Enjoy it as often as you can, it will last longer than you will but will make memories that last.

I got lucky again and located some Remington 148 gr. HBWCs at Buffalo Arms! These always shot great in my Colt Python but have been hard to find. They shot well in the Clark gun too. The lube Remington uses really is kind of messy - but you can't argue with the results. This handload shoots better than the Remington factory version (which has a heavy roll crimp). Bullet: Remington 148 gr. HBWC Powder: Alliant Bullseye 2.8 grs. Primer: Federal 100 Small Pistol Match Case: Remington Wadcutter LOAL: 1.185 Comments: Cases resized using Lee Factory Crimp Die with seating stem removed and taper-crimped. You can actually use unsized brass with the Remington bullets but I like to run them through a Lee Die. A ten shot groups off-hand at 25 yards
