I've sinned! I know you guys tried to talk me out of getting my Model 10 customized but a PPC Revolver is on my bucket list and I'm getting old(er)! Got a notice from Renee at Clark Custom Guns that my gun will be shipping soon. This should take some of the shooting pressure off my poor old Python. Before After I was on the fence about the Aristocrat Rib (my eyesight isn't what if was and I'm starting to like optical sights) but when the new version came out that's equipped to take Weaver mounts I fell to temptation!

I have a Model 64 S&W built by Travis Strahan that made the jump to optics only a few years back. It has one of Gil Hebard's 2X Burris scopes with a big dot in it mounted in Signature rings. It is strictly DA and hands down the most accurate revolver I own. There has been a ton of lead sent downrange through that barrel 148 grains at a time. Fun guns...

Just got the gun today. HOLY COW! If that's what the action feels like set up for any primer (not just Federal 100s) - what must the full action tune feel like? SUPER SMOOTH! Can't wait to shoot it!

If you don't mind saying how long did it take and total cost less the price of the gun. Reason for asking is thinking about having the same thing built but different Smith revolver.

It cost $805 including shipping and took about 2 1/2 months. They quoted 6 months and it came in early - caught me flat footed with no ammo!

For some strange reason I'd had a hankering for a PPC gun just like that for a number of years. Looks great.

Having a lot of fun with it! Tried some 148 gr. plated wadcutters in it yesterday but they didn't shoot very well - in the Clark gun or my Python. Tonight I tried some Hornady 148 gr. HBWCs over some VihtaVuori N310 and it was a whole different story! The problem is I'm still shooting up leftover bullets and constantly running out - hopefully the 500 Magnus 148 gr. HBWCs I picked up will shoot well. Seems like swaged .38 bullets are hard to find right now...
One thing that surprised me is how steady it feels with a two handed hold - doesn't feel much heavier than my Python (but it is).
Bullet: Hornady 148 gr. HBWC Powder: VihtaVuori N310 2.5 grs. Primer: Federal 100 Small Pistol Match Case: Federal .38 Special LOAL: 1.200

Thanks, I bought some Zero bullet co. 148 grain HBWC bullets that have shot well with AA#2 and Titegroup.

I lucked onto a pound of Titegroup yesterday and I've got 1000 Zero 148 gr. HBWCs on the way. Could you tell me what load worked best (with Titegroup)?

I'm loading 2.8 grains in Winchester 38 special brass with just a little roll crimp. Primers are CCI, or what ever is handy. They usually run just under 800 fps from 4" barrel. It is a generic load that has worked well in a wide range of guns and barrel lengths. You can play with it and get better groups with some guns. Most of mine have fire lapped barrels. A friend gave me the load several years back and it has worked with all the swagged lead wadcutters hollow base and double end.

Cool project. I have never shot one but I have always had a desire for a PPC gun. I picked up a used P&R 4" Model 13 recently and have been thinking about having Clark's put an Aristocrat rib on it and do an action job on it.

You know... I'm a bit slow at times but I'm starting to realize this Clark Custom is the most accurate revolver I own! Six shots offhand at 25 yards! I wonder how it would do from a Ransom Rest? I think it's time to quit looking for the ultimate HBWC load and just shoot this one! (And I do need the practice) Bullet: Magnus 148 gr. HBWC Powder: VihtaVuori N310 2.6 grs. Primer: Federal 100 Small Pistol Match Case: Federal .38 Special LOAL: 1.200

At one time I would get totally anal about finding the "Perfect" load. For revolvers that are scoped or shot at 100 yards or more I still work loads. For most if from a rest they group under the palm of my hand at the distance the gun is used for I'm content. I have guns and loads I can shoot tree squirrels with. It is nice though to fill a few coffee cans with generic loads on bad weather days. Then just pocket some for walking around a d plinking or whatever. To me it puts the fun back in shooting. Your type revolver makes it a lot of fun because they are easy to shoot. Trading one off leaves a huge hole in the collection. It also makes you question your mental abilities in the day you traded.
