With Cactus Tubb's OK I am forwarding this information. I've got my tickets and they are going fast. Only 44 " Special " dollars each.

Wish it weren't so dang far away! Tho I won't make the dinner, I appreciate Mr. Taffin every time I squeeze the trigger on one of my pet .45 loads. His work and published data made it possible for me to develop my load without having to completely reinvent the wheel. Same can be said for the .500 Linebaugh loads I'm currently working up. Best regards to John Taffin.

I'd almost drive to Idaho for this as well. But, I too will not be able to make it. Besides, that date is the same day as we are having our Autism Charity match at my range. I look forward to a report on how it goes!

Wow! I am almost speechless. What an outpouring of such well deserved appreciation , respect and love for one humble school teacher from Boise. It feels like I went to sleep and had the perfect dream of sixgun heaven. Many thanks to Cactus and all the people from Boise Gun as well as Matt Perry of Buckhorn Gun and his crew that pulled this effort together. I will post the link for the pictures done by a local pro when they are available. A few highlights. Mr. Taffin was presented with two special sixguns. The first from Ruger. A Bearcat with adjustable sights he has been asking for for many years. The second was a Western Hunter from Milt Morrison. This was arraigned by the Shootists and has the last brass Bisley grip frame Milt had. Most appropriate. Comic relief of the night. Gary Reeder winning a discount coupon for work done by Ken Kelly of Mag-Na-Port. He gave it back. I was able to shake hands and have a short conversation with Rob and Glen as well as Brian Pierce and Jack Hunnington ( can you get your head around a .475 special five shot cylinder for an N frame Smith or a Black hawk? ] Just a few reflections from a very special night.

I was hoping last night was a blast for JT and Mrs. Dot and all who could attend. The birth of my first grandson kind of threw a monkey wrench in attending but like Mrs. Dot told me, those first grandbabies only come once and she encouraged me to be with him. I can not wait to see the pictures. Ironically I will be passing through Boise later this week! A few days late and a few dollars short I am afraid! I think the appreciation dinner was a wonderful idea and truly worthy of a man who has done more to help me fulfill my sixgun dreams while depleting my bank account at the same time.
Congratulations JT, you well deserve the honor sir!

Sounds like it was a hit and I wish we could have been there!
Was the Bearcat with adjustable sights a new pre-production model or a custom from one of the builders?
