I have done so and shot them in 3 different .45 Colts and 2 .45 ACPs. They all shoot just as well as their naked cast counterparts shot per my previous recording keeping. No issues whatsoever. No leading (not always the case in the .45 Colts) and all the barrels looked pristine/clean after shooting.
It's a bit of a pain to do but the payoff is that it seems to work really well. Do some searches. Sixshots help here and on Castboolits has been extensive and very much appreciated.

Powder coating has been going on for about a year here in the states, some types of coating has been around for much longer. The Aussies have been powder coating bullets quite a while longer than we have & having great success, including in their rifles. My findings after maybe 9,000 cast is that accuracy doesn't seem to change much if any but I've seldom had them shoot worse than lubed bullets. Where the payoff comes is a much cleaner gun, no smoke, pretty much no leading & you don't need to buy lube at $3-$4 a stick. I'm still on my first bottle of Harbor Freight red paint, even after about 9,000 cast, & a bottle cots less than $7. Velocity is usually a bit faster so your gun may need to be re-sighted as it will shoot low most times. I'm shooting probably 96% powder coat now, although I still have quite a few that are lubed sitting on the shelves.

And it is a pain in the ars to de-lube those for powder coating.

I have experimented a pretty good bit with .38 spl and am starting to with .44 spl / mag. Generally I like it. I have tried a couple different ways of coating the bullets using HF red, yellow and white. The best coating that I have achieved has been putting the bullets and powder in a plastic medicine bottle, and then then running that in a case tumbler for a bit.
