I have used Montana Bullet Works almost exclusively in the past for my 500L. I am about out of my supply and would like to hear where others have bought bullets from since MBW is not operating at the momentn and is for sale. I see that Beartooth sells them - anywhere else?
I have molds to cast my own, but am out of alloy at the moment as well...

Call Bryan Reece 765-541-8584 He's a good guy and supplies good bullets. He has done a lot of casting for Linebaugh for years. I have a buddy that has been getting bullets from him for a couple of years.

I'm in the same boat. It's a bum deal having Dave out of business (especially for Dave, I'm sure). I've heard Brian Reece recommended (and he's recommended by JL). He has no website, just phone (765-541-8584).
Other than that, after exhaustive searching I've come up empty. All the remaining commercial guys are producing cheap, lightweight, excessively hard, bevel-base garbage. (But I'm not bitter).

How you own and actually shoot any of the 475 and 500 caliber guns without casting and reloading I just cant understand. LBT will make you a custom mold for about the price of 250 bullets from any of these reputible casters. Calibers such as 38 I get but stepping up to the big bores makes everything cost prohibitive to own and finding bullets at best is hit and miss. So the guns dont actually get shot and then they just languish in the safe.
Just my two cents...

If you don't mind HORRIBLE customer service use Cast Perfoemance. I placed an order for 475 bullets on 7/10 and still not a word. I have called them twice to find out status and all I get is a machine-NO call backs.

I've only purchased Cast Performance thru Midway and had good results. Only in 44 and 45 caliber. Now feel like I over paid, probably should have ordered directly from a manufacturer. But the bullets have been excellent.
Unfortunately, I too cannot cast right now. I'm sure there's some creative way I could make it happen, but for now I'd rather spend my time and energy loading and shooting. I'm sure I don't shoot as much as a Lee Martin or a Fowler, but I am literally shooting my 500JRH every chance I get, as much as I can. It costs something in the neighborhood of $0.60/shot using the great Leadheads 440gr slug. I have cheaper bullets from Dardas(330gr) and Missouri Bullet Co(400gr), but the 440's just seem to hit at the sights at any nearby range.
I may check out Reece in the future, met him recently. Also, Going Ballistic Bullet Co out of Montana seems to have a good product(406-214-1342). He seems a little pricey on the big stuff, but you could call and ask why. Maybe he just needs more volume!

I use Mr. Reese.
I even sent him several of my molds for odd ball stuff.
I've never been happier.
Met him this June in Wyoming. Couldn't ask for a nicer guy.

Don't want to steer the conversation too off course but I noticed Cast Performance sizes there big bore stuff small (500 for a 50Wyo/S&W/AE, .475 for 475 linebaugh and .511 for 500 Linebaugh) I was wondering if they are truly that size for these calibers or if they are 1/1000 over. I wasnt certain if what I view as undersizing was somehow related to their high BHN
Fwiw, my 500 drops from a V Smith mold about 504 and gets sized to a 502.
For those who order this fodder from CP, have you measured, or experienced leading?
