I was working on some reloads using the "Ferminator" slug,,, 135 grn, in my .327 mag Blackhawk. I've been using H110. I was wondering if anybody has used HS-6 in theirs & if so,,, what was your starting load & max load?

It definitely won't work.
As a favor, I would be willing to take the HS6 off your hands.

Haven't tried it in my .327 yet, but have in my .32-20 using Fermin's bullet. Speer #12 lists a starting load of 7.6grs of HS6/130gr. I've shoot a few, but prefer the 110/296 loads.... You might start at 7.0grs for the .327 and work up.

I haven't tried it,, as I've been using H110. It's just that I have a few jugs of HS-6,, and got to wondering. I haven't even done any research to see if it had been used by anybody.

Be careful! Mentioning that you have a few jugs of HS-6 around here could get a fellow mugged.....

Oh, I like to keep a good supply of good powders on hand, and I don't worry about buying too much when I find it. trueat1stlight,, I think you were looking for some HS-6 in another thread,, and I mentioned if you were anywhere near WNC,,, I MIGHT be conned out of a pound,,,! Ok,,, on to more enlightening conversation. I'm having fairly good success with H110,, but I'd like some recommendations for a few other powders to try where others here have found success.

You're a good man, contender! Also tag for any future loads you develop with this round. I have a new Single Seven on order and have already stocked a bunch of brass, primers, and Midway just shipped my dies.

I have been using that bullet in 32-20 and 32 H&R. So far my best luck has been with H110. Also had fairly decent results with Lil Gun. 2400 did not do well with me,lousey groups, stuck cases and trashed primer pockets. I have pretty much settled on H110 for full power and 231 for normal stuff. But I have even less 231 than HS-6.

Thanks dmize. I've been working with the H110 as I knew it was a few folks had had good results with. However,,, I like to experiment, and see if my gun prefers anything else. I have enough HS-6 to where I could easily play in that arena,,, so I was just asking. I'm gonna check my supply of 231 to see what I have & see what happens. But,,, I still have a bit of playing with the H110 to finish too!

I should mention that when I was using 231 I was not pushing anything. Was staying strictly by the book,4 grains was my max.
