I'm looking to sell a Savage 99 rifle for an older gentleman I shoot with. I'm trying to find out more about it before I list it on Gunbroker. I've looked all around but not sure where to start on the price. I know condition is a big factor but I need a starting point. Here is the specs on the gun:
Savage 99 30/30 take down 26" barrel serial number 230453. Stock appears to have been cut down and has a crescent butt plate. Condition is probably 80%. Slight CC on inside of the lever. Tang drilled for a peep. With a lyman peep installed.
Where is the best place to get info on the gun? The gentleman brought it over to Turnbull's awhile back and they gave him a rough est. on the value but it seemed high based on the condition. But I guess they would know. I'm trying to make the most for him since he is paring down due to health issues. I will have pics this weekend when I get with him to take some.
