We all hear the scuttlebutt about the gubment watching, especially the internet. Well now I have confirmation. I'm sure there are some here that know more about this than they can say but here is what I know for sure. A coworker of my wife has a son in the Corps. A few weeks ago he was shipped out to a place in the big sand box. Understandably his mother is concerned so she made a plea on Facebook asking for prayers to keep her son safe. Sounds safe enough right? Wrong! She mentioned in her post the location of her son. Not specific location, just the country. Having served in the Navy I know there are times when family and friends are not to be informed of your location and station. The next day after her post on Facebook she received a call from a gubment agency telling her to remove the post immediately. I told my wife the mother never should have posted her son's location and the son should probably not have told her his location, depending on the type of deployment. Any who I'm now truly convinced that big brother is alive and well and very busy. -Paul-

In this case at least, I'd say it's a good thing. An old term, OPSEC. Operational security. Mom violated it. In WW2, they said, loose lips sink ships. But yeah, Big brother has the capability. The problem is he can't always be trusted to use it in our best interest.
