Has anyone converted a Single Six to center fire with a hammer or other modification to convert easily back to rim fire? There have been other guns over the years where this is possible. I think it is possible to rework the frame for 2 firing pins. Also have what I think would be a way to modify the hammer. Learned years back to not try inventing the wheel if one is already out there and working. Thanks for any input.

I know it's not too big if a job if you know what your doing, $100-$150 option from Harton as I recall. What involved I don't really know beyond welding and machining the new hole and firing pin.

I understand the conversion where the old firing pin hole is welded and a new one made. This is an old model Single Six. I'm wanting to make 2 center fire wildcat cylinders in 22. One on the hornet and other on 32 S&W long case. Was looking at having both rim and center fire firing pins. Make the change from one to the other on the hammer. Then could use old rim fire cylinders also.

are you thinking ala TC Contender, with the center fire / rim fire switch on the hammer...

Not exactly like the Contender but close to their 1/2 screw head design.
