I just put in an order for a Wolff 19# hammer and a 40oz trigger spring. I also ordered a 4 pack hammer and trigger shim kit all going in to my Ruger Vaquero. This will be my first experience with installing the shims. Anybody here use them? I'd like to hear your opinion. Paul

I got a set of shims from Lance Shively, and installed them in a NM 327 Mag Blackhawk. It reduced the side to side play & "slop" so the speak. When you go to install them, go slow, make sure everything is in alignment before pushing in the pins. I used some slave pins to align things before final pin installation.

I have the shims in I think 3 SA Rugers. They are annoying to line up but the videos on Lance's site TriggerShims Brand Shim Kits michigancenteroutdoors.com/index.html make the procedure easy enough to follow. The first set I installed took about 10 minutes longer than it normally would to reassemble a Ruger but since then it is only about an extra 3 minutes assembly time. Do heed the warning about leaving at least .002" slop. I accidentally did one tighter and it made everything stiff.

Thank you. I ordered the Shivley kit and watched his video. Side to side hammer slop is what I'm looking to rectumfy. I mean rectify. Thanks again.
