I ended up with a .45 Colt New Vaquero and it's closer to "on" than the last couple I've owned. It's hitting low/left. I can cure the low...other than bending the front sight, can I tweak the windage? It's about 2" left at 25yds. Any possibility of turning the barrel in 1/8" or are the usually bottomed out as far as screwing it in?

I think I'll shoot it another 100 rounds see if it/I settle in before I gig on it. It's an older gun that was unfired...maybe with a little love it will warm up to me. ;-)

Try a lighter trigger or less finger on the trigger if you are right handed. Might make 2" of difference

Thanks.... I was kinda wondering if it might be operator "disfunction", one reason I wanted to put more rounds through it. The 4th group I shot was much improved over the 1st. thanks again.

I wouldn't call it operator disfunction. Each one of us holds one a bit different and it makes a big difference on poi. That is why I hate fixed sights. With adjustable sights I can make it hit and hold it the way I want to.

The Vaquero hits about 2 inches low and left. My Bounty Hunter hits dead on. Maybe the guy that I got the Bounty Hunter from sold it because it was hitting two inches high and right.

For me , a constant fight with fixed sight guns. I was once advised to "just move the target over , a little".
