How many reloads does your .348 brass (standard .348 WCF, not the Ackley Improved) tend to last?
Also do you have a lot of difficulty obtaining components?
Thank you.

WELL YOU GOTTA UNDERSTAND, this depends entirely on how hot YOU load your ammunition.
NO.

I load mine near book maximum and have six or seven goes on the brass and all is fine. Mine came with a pile of brass and factory ammo so no issue with brass. Bullets generally available on-line so no issue there either.

Thank you everyone.
Terry, except for .45 Colt and .45/70 I tend to load nothing over factory equivalent velocities.

Just got my 71 last week. I'll start reloading for it soon. Been reading about this one for years. Sadly the owner is selling his guns. Bittersweet.

PS, I am not much of a rifleman. I am more of a sixgunner. Not a lot of variety mostly just .22 LR/.22 Mag and .45 Colt for the sixguns and a .375 H&H for the rifle. BUT...the Model 71 seems to point like the finger of God. I have not come across another rifle that is as easy to toss to shoulder and be on target.

Mine is the 20" barrel. Helping a friend and haven't shot it yet. May tomorrow.

One interesting thing...I fondled a 20" carbine in a gun shop, it was one of the Brownings, and to me it felt practically identical to the 24" Rifle versions. I think I want a carbine too. For the carbine though apparently the original Winchesters are pretty rare so Browning is the way to go for a short model.
I am also interested in the Italian built Model 71 chambered in .45/70 which is being imported by Cimarron but haven't seen one yet and won't buy until I see one of them.

IMO the Browning's are put together at least, if not better, than the originals. This after years of searching. If one purely wants a shooter the Browning is the answer. A few years ago I gave $900 for this carbine shipped that included 100 pieces of new brass, 4 boxes of factory ammo (Win and Browning), dies and, for some reason, 50 pieces of new 450 NE brass...
