Glad I'm not the only one who reaches into the garage for gun lubrication. I've been using the Mobil 1 synthetic grease and it works great, even in deep cold it doesn't get too stiff (-15, -20).

mhblaw.... in answer to your thread titled Breech Face Wear?----the seventh photo shows wears, such as it is, on a very early “Silhouette Super,” S410N Super Blackhawk with 1-1/2”, broach rifled 1:20”. Nothing outland, just thousands of full house .44 Magnums, many Hornady 240 JHC and 265 FP, but mostly Sierra 240 JHC----over various top charges of Hercules 2400, IMR and Hodgdon 4227, Winchester 296 and H110.
