Starting my .358 Winchester Ruger 77 rifle project and I'm looking for a barrel. The specifics are stainless 20-22". I don't need a super match barrel since this is going to be a woods hunting gun but I do want a quality barrel. Any suggestions on a barrel maker?

I have been very happy with my Pac-Nor 7MM barrel on my 700 single shot 7mm-08.

Douglas and Shilen are both great barrels and affordable.

You might ask Dave Clements. Last I knew he built two 77s in .358 Winchester.

woody.... not suggesting a maker, but recommend 1:12" twist. I suspect Remington had a rack full of .35 Remington barrels, that when Remington introduced their pump in .35 Whelan it grabbed the 1:16 twist barrels. 1:16 is fine for .358 200 grain round nose, too slow for 200 grain Spire Point, and far too slow for 250 grain Spire Point.
Note that marginal stability in air is instability in meat.
Go with 1:12 and you'll handle them all. David Bradshaw

Montana rifle said the same about 1in 12 when I ordered a 35cal for my whelan. The cut rifle barrel makers seem to be 8 months for the less popular cal. .224, 6mm and 30cal appear to be 24 months.

Talking it over with my gunsmith I'm going with a Hart barrel. He's had good results with them plus they are local. Thanks for all the input.

Do not think you would be disappointed with a Hart. Got one on a few rifles. All are tack drivers.

I like Pac-Nor. Mine are stainless supermatch cryo treated. 1 is on a 50ak and the other is a, 338-404 Jeffery's. Having said that, there are a number of good barrel makers out there.
