Outlaw Ben: Now that is some gorgeous color case hardening colors!!! Beautiful! Thanks again for some outstanding USFA revolvers and excellent photography. Ivory or Tru Ivory two-piece grips on the one single-action? J.D. Press Those are official factory Ivories.. Actually the only Ivory set that I have on any of my guns, USFA, Colt, or other. I do have some several USFA Guns in Tru-Ivory. Very nice looking as well. As I found out with all the white or light colored grips, they're so washed out in a photo of the entire gun that it's tough to tell what they are. A close up of just the grips tends to be not too bad. I should do a side by side of Tru and real to see the difference. I had the ivories off the gun to make sure, but you can tell in a good photo maybe.. Definitely can tell the difference with guns in hand. No doubt why owners fall in lust with Ivorys. These ivories with the a lot of the "milky" or "spilled milk" look are what I like. Of course, real old Ivory is the true beauty.

Outlaw Ben: I thought the grips looked nice, now I know why! You do not see two-piece ivory grips on single-actions very often; most of the time they are one-piece, but I really like the appearance and functionality of the the two-piece ivory grips. As with most of USFA single actions, these grips fit perfectly too. That is an exceptional 4-3/4 single-action from any viewpoint! Thank you for the details - The beauty is always in the fine points! I finally have something to contribute Cowboy .45 Special: my new favorite plinker! (Lee 214gr FPRN over 5.2gr of Unique, ~620fps) A buddy of mine who shows up whenever he hears shooting... "range lizard?" Wears comfy doing chores in Simply Rugged leather meant for Rugers. It's preferred load in my hands is Lee 214 gr FPRN over a 9mm case full of Unique going about 750 fps. So that's what the fuss is all about...

It's a regular .45 Colt gun. You can shoot the Cowboy 45 Special brass/ammo in most any 45 Colt revolver though you have to modify the carrier on leverguns to cycle them, from what I've read. Another outfit at acammo.com is supposedly going to start offering the Cowboy 45 Special brass again any time now. They're actually made by Starline. I only have 100 pieces and they shoot great and pretty flat out to 35y or so - same POA

Well.. Major.. If you have to have only one,, that's a dandy. Omni Target. I know of one collector that might have one.. But I'm gonna have to ask him. I have the Omni and the Flattop Target, but I don't have the gun with both of those put together.. Very nice. Tip of the hat to you Sir. Would you know any history on your gun such as year of make?

Chutch, I was just about to say that gun has the Rodeo II finish on it... If that's a Rodeo II, then I've never seen one in 7-1/2" And as I was thinking it, you verified it.. Thank you for putting that information with your photo. No doubt, with USFA there was so many rare configurations.. At some point there was truly a stretch where you could get a gun any whicha-way one so desired. I missed that part of the game unfortunately for me, but I am certainly thrilled to see all these excellent guns. To borrow the words of my 4 yr old... They're super good ... Super good.
