i didnt like the stock rear sight for my Abilene and did some digging. Kensight makes an Elliason target rear sight that fits the Abilene. fwiw.

flexjr.... the Abilene topstrap was milled to accept the Colt Accro (sp?) and Colt Elliason. The Accro is a copy of the Micro Sight; better than the other copy, which appears on millions of Rugers. The Elliason is better than the Accro. Bo-Mar copied the Elliason, in the process making it the best adjustable sight. David Bradshaw

David Bradshaw Mr. Bradshaw, I was wondering about your opinion of the Accro rear sight. my eyes just dont work with that sight. the original Micro rear sight works good for me and the Elliason type works best for me.

flexjr.... when I said the Accro is a better copy of the Micro than the Ruger, I meant better quality. The Accro frame in which the windage adjustable part----blade or slide----moves, shares the top edge of the blade. The vaudeville of surfaces causes confusion to the eye as it takes aim. The Ruger version, while not quite as well made, at least separates the top edge of the blade from the sight body. The Elliason, from which the Bo-Mar improvement was copied----employs a rear-slanted plane with a notch cut in it, which simplicity provides the eye great solace at any speed of aim.
The Elliason is neither as rugged nor as precise as the Bo-Mar. As a side note, the original Micro is a very rugged sight, and damn precise, although coarser of adjustment than the Bo-Mar. Elliasons I have measured with dial indicator average a hair more the .002" per click. Bo-Mars measure----to dredge memory----.002", possible a hair less. The scalloped edge of Bo-Mar elevation and windage screws allow precise adjustment, as hashmarks aren't stamped under the screw head.
Wichita Engineering made a an adjustable sight to compete with the Bo-Mar, and Ron Power made a rib to compete with the Bo-Mar rib in PPC. My limited exposure to those sights failed to dislodge my trust of the Bo-Mar.
The Iron Sight Gun Works sight used in IHMSA Silhouette on Freedom Arms and Unlimited pistols is well-fitted, with consistent adjustments, with good elevation span. Bo-Mar and Micro share good elevation adjustment. Millett sensibly enjoys deployment on some very fine handguns
Never tried to interchange sights of Sig Himmelman's El Dorado and Seville with his offshoot Abilene. David Bradshaw
