I have one of the less often seen Marlin MR rifles in .450 Marlin. This one has the longer barrel and pistol grip stock, nice wood. The only thing I did to it was change out the recoil pad on it. Factory vented pad is just too hard for that round. Its one of the most accurate rifles I own. It has put 4 rounds into .6" at 100 yds with a 2X scope mounted. I have bolt guns that wont do that.

Steve, I put one of these on my 30/30. www.cowboyneeds.com/15029.htmlI have to have a scope, can't see good nuff, not well enough to get the full potential out of a rifle. The 3/4" one.

A Wild West Alaska extractor is in the mail. Had some issues the other day. Needed a cleaning rod to knock out some cases. Am going at this in two ways. The hopefully better extractor and I'm having the chamber polished up some. A more thourough cleaning helped, but this to be a hunting arm. Ineed it to work over multiple days in bad weather, so.. otherwise I'm quite happy with the rifle. Ohio has since made it a legal for deer weapon ! The value of M1894's has gone up here. A friend just snagged one last week and we had a little shootin' fest here in the backyard. You couldn't pry it outta his hands now. Still pondering the peep sight options. I have no interest in scopes. Maybe, just maybe, a red dot sight. Nahh...

I like the Skinner Sight on the 1894 Marlin. It's not to friendly to adjustment, find a good load, zero and then stick with it.

this is similar to what I'm running on the rear of my Guide gun... an earlier picture, with the stock sights on it... I personally think adding a ghost ring at the back of the receiver helps a lot greatly increasing the sight radius...
