The blueing on my Kimber gold match is getting pretty worn off. I was thinking about getting the creokote coating put on it. What do you all think? Does anyone know someone good to do it?

I was just on the phone with Jack Huntington, talking about this just yesterday, they been doing cerakote for quite some time and have found it tough as nails and IMHO it looks great, plenty of colors to choose from. Would highly recommend giving them a call 530-268-6877

I've had two guns ceracoated. Both had help up very nice. The first is one of my duck guns. A Benelli M2 the other is a grip frame for my .357 flattop. I've carried it a lot since and it still looks awesome. The shotgun gets some hard use in the late season hunting divers and it's nice to have. I had mine done locally but a company that does dipped and ceracoat. They do a lot of work for the gun industry. I think ceracoat works great on aluminum to bake it harder and more durable. www.tarjac.com

I have a 1911 that has been cerakoted. Been shot a little and the slide racked alot in dryfiring. Haven't carried in holster yet, but I think it will hold up just fine.

Don't know about creokote but used to put creosote on the bird dog to cure mange.
