Cool. I'd love to attend. Was planning it out last year but I had another event fall right on top of the Shot Show!!
Glad you had a good time. Any photos? I have a C&R and think I can attend with that....however, my dealer buddy told me if it was not what was needed, he'd put me on the "payroll" for a week or two so I could attend as his "employee/representative".

Been to a few of these, they are something. Lots of hunting and shooting dignitaries to meet. Met a couple on your list. Jim Wilson is one of the nicest, most polite guys I have run across. Same with Jerry Miculek, a real gentle type. You know he must have great hand strength, but you would never know it by his hand shake. Very nice guy. Met lots of others as well. Some I try to forget too. A few of the editor types are a pretty arrogant bunch. Most are great guys. Met Craig Boddington there a couple of times, good guy, helpful. Its a great place to go if you can. Saw but did not meet Lee Ermey. Watched him signing books. That was entertainment in itself! Funny guy.

I was there and it wasn't my first. And you are correct in how nice most of the folks are. I was enjoying a visit with Jim & Larry in the Ruger booth, and I commented on how "the SHOT Show is like a family reunion without the funeral!" Larry laughed & said I was right & he was gonna borrow that line. Sheriff Jim is truly a SW gentleman. Yet, I'd never want to cross the man. I enjoy his way of spinning a tale, AND his cowboy music. Yes, Jim has recorded a few CD's of cowboy type music.

I was surprised by Jerrys handshack also, hes gotta have a killer grip. Bart Skelton had a helluva handshake though. So many nice folks!!

Been to many even back before it was a SHOT Show,Was called Nat'l Sporting Goods Assoc Show, held at Navy Pier in Chicago. With Chicago's attitude on Guns and shooting related a group founded SHOT Show. Has been a howling success. I have not been for several years due to distance and or health related problems. Unfortunately each year brings the sad news that one of the longtime attendees and or manufactures is no longer with us. Charles BUZZ Huntington of RCBS passed away 30 Dec and the Huntington booth was cancelled. I did not find out until last Friday and was unable to contact Fred Jr. until this AM to express my condolences. To some of the younger members on board you might pull up Fred Huntington Sr. to see the family contributions to the shooting sports. Like his Dad and brother Buzz was a true Gentleman in all manners. RIP Buzz LEJ

First SHOT show was here in St Louis. Brauer Brothers holsters, located in St Louis was instrumental in formation of SHOT. As I recall the shooting industry felt that the Chicago show had become so big that the guns were lost in all the other sports. Ironically, the last SHOT I attended seemed to have came full circle, as the guns and shooting gear and knives were lost in all the non-shootin "outdoors" stuff.

It was Chicago's Anti gun policies that made the big difference tho Chicago would never admit that. Bauer might have been one of the original members but it was Speer, CCI, Huntington Dies, Sierra, that spearheaded and or ramrodded it thru.
