I've been out of work for a few months, and since I need to raise a little cash, I decided to put part of my 22 LR ammo stash on Gun Broker. I started everything out at current Midway retail pricing, even though they don't have any right now. So I'm getting PM after PM from people wanting me to discount it, and they'll buy all of it, if I pay the shipping. I guess they've got to try it, but there's no way I'm going to fall for this nonsense. Besides, running a side deal could get me kicked off Gun Broker. So I'm telling them to wait, and bid on the auctions, but that's not the game they want to play. Oh well...

Okay. I'll put them in the "links" board. I didn't stop to think that anybody here might want some of it.

I've shipped over 3000 rounds of 22LR to folks on this board and others when the crunch was on...and there is a need still. As far as pricing it's still America and regardless of what some folks think you can sell it for whatever you want (just expect some comments from the peanut gallery)...the person paying is the only one who should care...Gunbroker is a LAST resort. If you wanna pay fees...send whatever board you sell it on a check for the GB equivalent.

You're right of course. I sold off my .22s, simply because I don't ever use them, and the money was needed more than the dust catcher.

$10 says these are the same guys who were camping out by the loading dock at WalMart at 2 o'clock in the A.M. to buy ammo as it came off the truck...

I was simply trying to reach as many people as possible, hoping the bids would go higher than they really did. Everything I sold was pre-panic, and I tried to price it around current retail. In some areas I was a bit high, in others I was kind of low. Anyway, thanks to those from these boards who participated. I recognized a couple of names, and hope to return the favor somehow.

I don't sell ammo but it's been my experience selling guns everywhere, forums, and websites.
I'm not sure there has been a single time that anybody has actually paid what I ask when I set a reasonable starting price, no matter how fair the price may be, and it's typically not junk.
I nearly always end up lowering it. Maybe because folks have seen my stuff for sale and figure I'll come down.
If I'm honest about I do it too. Not every time but I do it.

It's really a juggling act sometimes. I have had really poor luck on the Ruger Forums, and it puzzles me sometimes because I do a lot of research before posting an ad. 24 Hour Campfire gives me pretty good results on guns, and reloading & casting equipment on "Cast Boolits". I wasn't sure where to offer the 22 ammo, so I put it on an auction. I did okay, but nothing really outstanding.
