I just might be tempted to shoot a few over the chrono with this 8 inch Reeder...

The man with no neck likes his loads just like he likes his burritos, hot! He's just going to tell you to fill it up with H110 & batten down the hatches! That 8" Reeder ought to be a real rocket Stan. I'm shooting 12.4 grs of H110, standard SP primer & the 135 gr. Sledehammer HP, not max by ferminator standards but plenty fast for me.

Using Fermin's 'Sledgehammer HP' (132grs checked and lubed)I'm loading 11.3grs 2400 in both .327 and .32-20. Not quite as warm as the H110 load of Dick's.

I'm going to be tempted to break out the chronograph just to see what this thing will do!

Today I did some additional testing with my 8 shot 327 Blackhawk & the Fermin Hammer HP slug, its a real hammer although only one Arizona jackrabbit has felt the heat! That will change soon. I keep trying different loads with 2400 & H110, so far my original 12.4 grs of H110 has shot the best in my gun using winchester sp primers, I didn't bring any mag primers, dang it so that will have to wait until we get back to Idaho. The mag primer may shoot better, maybe worse, but certainly faster & more pressure, be careful & work up from below when playing with heavy slugs in this somewhat new caliber. I did shoot a very good group with 12.6 grs of H110 except I got some vertical stringing & only had one cylinder full (8) of this load. There will be a jackrabbit funeral in the next few days with some photo's added (I hope) This is going to be one very fun caliber with these heavy HP slugs.

Stan, I have not had a chance to work with this mold yet. I am and will be pretty for now. Besides, every spare moment I can scare up I am out hunting. Anyhow, you guys can start with the loads Dick and the Sheriff have listed. Be advised, a 327 on a Single Six is not as strong as an 8 shot Ruger Blackhawk which will not be as strong as a 6 shot converted Buckeye. This particular bullet will most likely need to be kicked in the rear a bit because of its length which may give stabilization issues at lower speeds. I use Small Magnum Pistol Primers. I also use H110. Be mindful of your cylinder length.
The bullet I worked with when I came up with this idea was a 133 grain LBT but while the weight was simular the crimp groove was not the same thus you should have a bit more case capacity with this Sledgehammer design. I achieved 1500 PLUS fps out of a 32-20 Buckeye cylinder with a custom barrel . That sixgun displayed excellent dimensions throughout. Your gun might be different.
All due caution should apply.

As a 'For What it's Worth' the the shorter 'base to crimp groove' allows it to be used in .32mag cases, that, when crimped in the crimp groove and works just like the old stayby .357 load in .38sp cases. It will not fit in single-six .32mags as it's too long, but works fine in the 8-shot .327 and 6-shot ones. L-R: Sized and lubed, w/GC; Loaded in .32mag, .327mag, and .32-20.
