Has anyone replaced the stock Ruger hammer and trigger with the custom kit from Power Custom? How did it work out and was it worth it?

Several years ago I put the hammer and trigger kit in an original Vaquero. It isn't perfect; at half-cock my cylinder is not lined up with the loading gate at each click, you click then go a little further. Still it is better than the stock arrangement where if you click past you go around and come back to that chamber. The trigger pull is nice without a whole lot of work. The hammer just looks better than the stock Ruger hammer but that is just me. If you don't pull the hammer to the 'half-cock' position and open the loading gate the system works as it did originally. Is it worth it? For me it is because of cosmetics and unloading/loading is easier. If you get a kit, it may index better than mine.

I've played with a couple. Power Custome says that the set mey require some fitting. One dropped in as worked as advertised. The second one needed more adjustment than I was willing to do at that point in time I've just selected a new candidate to see if it will drop in it.

I would love to know how that works out for you!You said the parts needed some adjustment;what kind of adjustment are you talking about if you don't mind describing what had to be done to fit the parts.

I didn't do anything... I chose to not put the parts in that gun.. May be months or even years before I move on this next gun.

I guess I have just been lucky..I have four of them and they all dropped right in. I have not had any that do not index correctly either. The resulting trigger pull on 3 of them are as good as any custom trigger job I have had. One is a bit heavier but still with no creep at all. I have not put it on a gauge but I know it is still lighter than the factory trigger.
If I have any complaints it was with one that I put in a NM flat top 44 special. The newer XR3 grip frame has thicker "ears" where the hammer rides and the Power hammer was not flush. It was smaller and was recessed in the frame. Worked fine but I did not like the look so it went into and older Blackhawk. The Bisley model Power hammer fit the flat top perfectly.
With that said I have seen several newer Blackhawks that the factory hammer has the same recessed look.(Still don't like it)

I put the bisley hammer/standard trigger set in one of my 44 specials. i had to do some file work on the hand to get it to time right for shooting and getting the chambers to line up for loading/unloading. it is not difficult, but requires patience and attention to detail.

Well I just finished putting a PowerCustom hammer trigger kit in my .32 Single Six.The only trouble I had was that the second notch in the pawl(hand) was a little too long causing the cylinder to lock up earlier than sear engagement.Once I filed the notch down the revolver locks up tight and has a trigger pull that is very very good.
