Looking for a pair of Reeder 24 and 25 bore revolvers in a few months. Specifically they will be chambered for Gary's 240 and 255 Banshee cartridges. These are based on the Hornet case. Thinking it is time to start thinking about casting bullets for these beasts. Any of you guys casting bullets for stuff like this? Tell me about your bullet molds and size dies? Tell me about any new issues that pop up with the large mass of the mold and the tiny bullets. I remember that my LBT 32 cal mold needed the lead temp turned up a bit to properly fill the mold.

Don't cast for the .24's, but I use a Lyman 257420 for the little .25's.

Stan, that little 257420 mould that sheriff mentions is a dandy in small cases. I used it for many years in an old model 43 Winchester 25/20. It weighs about 65 grs with a GC, it has a flat nose like a girl I knew once & it was an absolute beast on ground squirrels & badgers. The squirrels would pop like a grape when it hit. One of my boys took a couple of close range deer with it, no problem.

Thanks for the heads up on that 25 mold.. Looks like it is readily available too. Looked around for a 24. Thinking that the 24 might be something that I'll need to order custom from a mold maker like Mountain Molds.

AXE,
Take a look at NEI, they have some good bullets in the 22 thru 25 cals. Dan at mountain doesn't do molds in 22 cal but now does 6mm but doesn't list .25's
Hope this helps.

I'll take a look at NEI... They do have pages and pages of molds. Last NEI mold I bought was before Walt passwed. I figure the gun is 4 months out so it is time to get busy..
