I was trying to sell my S&W Mountain Revolver on another forum, and had a guy in a neighboring state wanting it. The dealbreaker came when he wanted me to deliver the gun to him without going through a dealer, he just wanted to meet somewhere. In Obamas America, there was no way I would consider it. He passed completely when I offered to deliver the gun to a dealer on his side of the border for transfer.
Do you have an amusing gun selling anecdote to share?

No stories here but good call on passing on that sale. I would do the same.

Same state, locally sure. Another state? No way.

In Obamas America, there was no way I would consider it. I wouldn't agree to that deal in Bush's America, or Reagan's America, or Nixon's America, or Eisenhower's America...

It would have been fine in Eisenhower's America. It wasn't outlawed until LBJ's America. Before LBJ you could send it through the mail leagally also. You know, back when we had a free country.

I do local gunshows, and often have guys come up to me wanting to buy from out of state, no pistol permit, etc.
No sale.

I once had a guy in New York City who wanted to buy my Uberti Walker. Knowing that it did not meet the ATF's definition of a "firearm" I didn't see any red flags regarding selling it to him. Funny thing is, he insisted that I "include cap and ball" with the gun. I thought "the heck with shipping lead" since it's too heavy, so I backed out. A while later, I realized that he was trying to get me to unknowingly ship hazardous materials - those percussion caps are considered explosive by UPS.

People constantly amaze me. They think they can make their own conditions on deals and can pretty much disregard what you wish.
I just sold a gun on GB and it clearly stated in the description to be sure your FFL will accept a gun from a non FFL holder. Easy and clear enough..right?
OOOOHHHHH NOOOOOOOOO!
He wants me to get a FFL to ship the gun to his FFL. I understand but it is a pain to get this done where I live. Oh, he'll pay for it... not much help here.
I could re-list the gun but that puts me another week behind in the cash game
That's just the most recent little annoyance..
Have to say though, most are great.
