Anothers treasure. Or maybe a burden. Picked this up a while back off of Gunbroker. Probably paid too much for it but as hard as these barrels are to find and because I may want a .45 Colt Super Redhawk GP-44 conversion I figured I might as well. It will save me the re-bore cost. Finally sent Hamilton an Alaskan to build my .500 Linebaugh. Chris said they were getting ready to do a few of them so maybe the wait won't be too bad. Didn't have the heart to ask the guy how he did this. Well, we all know how he did it. ![](http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/aa321/Bushog/PB090002_zpsfd54407f.jpg)

bushog.... be good to know what happened to that Anaconda. Unfamiliar with the Anaconda, but looks to be more than a double charge of fast powder, and more than a double charge of medium powder. I'll take a SWAG it was a magnum volume is fast powder. Can you get the dope on this one? David Bradshaw

That barrel is going to make an awesome custom, no matter what you end up doing with it. Color me jealous.

Had once once... the cylinder had monster 0.456" throats. Maybe OK for SAAMI pressures but I didn't care for the idea of swaging all my slugs down 0.005" on every shot. Of course I did try jacketed rounds: you could hear the bullets rattling around in the throats!

This brings up another option that has crossed my obsessed mind (this can become an illness so newbies beware).... I can take this .45 barrel, buy an 8" .44 magnum Anaconda, have JRH switch the barrels, ream the throats for a tight .45 Colt and then I've got the perfected .45 Colt Anaconda! I could still have the 8" .44 barrel re-bored to .45 and then I could have the 5.5" GP-44 conversion in .45 Colt. I've always wanted ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)

Oh!
Lest I forget Roy Fishpaw ivory grips for the perfected anaconda.
Did they ever make blue anacondas?
Maybe I could find some parts and have them nitre blued for accents....
Just kidding. It's that thing I have kicking in again!
