I just called Hornady. I ordered 500 Linebaugh dies from them two months ago with a two month backlog. They told me it would be at least anothe 6 to 8 weeks. They say they are not popular but nobody has them in stock. Any ideas where I can find some without having to take out a loan?

500 Linebaugh dies are usually out of stock. Used sets sometimes appear on Gunbroker.com and AuctionArms.com (though none are up for sale right now). -Lee www.singleactions.com

I may have a second set in hand in a day or so..... Supposed to be the Hornady 4 die set. I won't know for sure until I see what I get... You guys think I should put them in the classified ads here?

If you MUST have a set go to reedercustomguns.com and buy a set of 510 GNR dies they WILL work but are $ 100.

I wondered about the 510 dies. I wasn't sure since it is a shorter case. I know the other way works i.e. 44 mag dies to load 44 special.

I bought my 500 max dies from CH-4D.
Even if not in stock, I think they can build you a set faster than waiting on Hornady.

I just talked to Hornady's Custom shop today and was told the 4 die set for 500 Linebaugh could be shipped in less than a week. Give them a call and ask for Lonnie. Price was $85.00 They will also be making 500 Linebaugh forming dies (trimmer & expander) to make cases from the Winchester 348 - price should be $160.00, which is $440.00 cheaper than RCBS. Wait time for that will be in the 6 to 8 month range.

I noticed my credit card was charged about a week ago. I did receive the dies in the mail today. $95 delivered to my door in case anybody else needs some.

Just an update. I ordered the 500 Linebaugh 4 die set last week and the set was shipped out yesterday. The Hornady Custom Shop is on the ball.
