Doing that CAN ruin a shotgun barrel too.

I'm certainly not a shotgun expert ( in fact, far from it ) but looks like doing this could easily result in a bulged barrel

I'm certainly not a shotgun expert ( in fact, far from it ) but looks like doing this could easily result in a bulged barrel It CAN,not saying it always will but from personal experience as a 16 year old I can assure you it can bulge a barrel on a 12 gauge Steven SXS. An 870 with its heavier barrel may well work fine.
